March 2006
Phil wins his first major breeder/owner/handled at the San Antonio shows while Brenda wins breed all 5 days.  He won his second major by winning Best of Breed over 20 champions during the National Specialty Weekend in Louisville, Kentucky, to rank #1 Male by a landslide!  Brenda won 2 Awards of Merit during the weekend, B/O/H under Charles Trotter and also under Jane Forsyth.  Pluto wins BOS under Charles Trotter and B/O/H BOS under Jane Forsyth. Shiner's daughter Gigi wins her first points at the San Antonio shows and two major reserves in Louisville.

January 2006
Pluto wins BOS at the Eukanuba Invitational under Kathleen Steen.  Brenda wins Best Bred-by Exhibitor.  Lindsey Dowling made breed history when she won the Working Group with Brenda at the January Alaska Kennel Club shows under Edeltraud Laurin!

Fall 2005
Brenda wins several more Best of Breeds in Texas to rank #1 Breed and also won a Group 4 under Charles Olvis to rank #5 All Breed.

September 2005
Brenda wins the working group at the Santa Ana Califonia shows under Stephen Gladstone (the largest group win of any kuvasz in 2005) and several more BOB's to rank #1 Breed through Oct!!!!

Summer 2005
Homer storms through Idaho, Washington and  Montana,  Best of Breed after Best of Breed and multiple group placements!  These  wins rank him in the top 10 Breed and All Breed!   Sarah  won Best Bred-by in Group in Alaska and finished her championship. Congratulations to Murray and Magda on their Best of Breeds in June and Magda in July and August!  Pluto and Tutti (Glacier Creek's Spirit of Adventure) went to the International Shows in July and came home as new Champions with all Very Excellent ratings.  Tutti won 3 Best in Show Bred-by puppy awards and two puppy group placements at just 7 months. Pluto won the adult working group.  

May 2005
Brenda wins four Best of Breeds in a row and a Group 3 at the Rio Hondo and Mission Circuit Shows in California!  She won 5 BOB's total, beaten only by half sister Sarah, Glacier Creek's Wilderness Spirit who was breeder-owner-handled to a 5 point BOB major (over 4 specials!) and a 4 point BOW the next day.  Madga won back to back 5 point majors the first 2 days of the Mission Circuit to finish her Championship!  Baby sister Lexi wins a Group 3 at the Klamath Falls, Oregon sanctioned match at just 4 months of age.

April 2005
Pluto wins Best in Sweeps, Winner's Dog, Best of Winners and Best Bred-by to finish his championship at the Kuvasz Club of America National Specialty in Wichita, Kansas.  His littermate Buzz won a major the next day, breeder/owner/handled.  Rainey wins a Group 2 under Lester Mapes in Crosby, Texas and makes the cut under Jane Ropollo.

February 2005
Rainey wins Best of Breed at Westminster while Brenda wins an Award of Merit her third time out as a special!

January 2005
Brenda wins an Award of Excellence at the Eukanuba Invitational in Tampa Florida, her first time out as a special! 

November 2004
Pluto wins a major Tulsa weekend, and Rainey wins Best of Breed.  Homer wins Winner's Dog at the AKA sponsored show in Columbus Ohio and two majors in Mesquite, Texas while Rainey wins three BOB's in a row in Texas.  Homer wins Best Adult in Match at the Texas Working Dog Association sanctioned match.

October 2004
Bridget wins two majors in a row to finish her championship in Belton, Texas and Rainey wins a Group 2 under Lester Mapes.

August 2004
Rainey wins another group placement under Jerry Weiss! Brenda finishes her championship and wins Best in Show Brace with Bridget.

July 2004
Rainey places in group under Sam Burke, and Pluto and Brenda win majors at the Kenai Kennel Club shows. 

June 2004
Bridget wins BEST IN MATCH at the Alaska Kennel Club Sanctioned Match!!  Homer and Baby Girl (Glacier Creek's Wilderness Spirit) win their first points and Homer places in the bred-by group at the Alaska Kennel Club shows.  Rainey places in group 3 times at the Yukon Kennel Club shows in Canada to get her Canadian championship in 3 shows and Brenda wins Best Puppy in Group 3 times.

May 2004

Brenda and Bridget get their first majors in Wyoming and win BEST IN SHOW Brace!  Brenda goes on to win the Bred-by class and Reserve Winner's Bitch at the Nationals under Lee Canalizo, and Tanya wins an Award of Merit, handled by Wendy Melnick.  The next day Tanya wins Best of Breed from the Veteran's Class under Ronald Krohne and a Group 3 under Lee Canalizo to rank #1 Breed, #3 All breed! Brenda and Bridget are also awarded Best in Specialty Show Brace, although without competition.  Magda wins Best of Breed from the puppy class under John Ramirez for her first major in California, handled by Karen Bruneau. 8 points at 8 months!  Glacier Creek's Jolly Roger, owned by Julie Dalby and handled by Randy Ham, won Best of Winners for a 5 point major specialty weekend under Roger Pritchard whileTanya nearly takes breed again!

March 2004

Tanya wins breed, Rainey wins breed, Kiska finishes her championship with a major at the Alaska shows!  Tanya and Lisa also wins Best of Breeds in Texas, Lisa for her third major from the bred-by class! 

January 2004

Tanya is awarded a Working Group 3 by Irene Bivin her first time out of the Veteran's Class, Breeder/owner/handled! Rainey wins the breed the next day and makes the cut in group.

December 2003
Rainey wins judges First Award of Excellence at the Eukanuba Invitational show in Long Beach, Califonia.  Lisa wins her first two majors at the Kuvasz Club of America Supported Entry under Constance Barton and the American Kuvasz Association sponsored show under Lee Reasin.

Rainey follows in Sonia's footsteps and wins Best of Breed at the American Kuvasz Association Sponsored show in Columbus, Ohio! Lisa wins her first two points under Barbara Alderman from the bred by class at 9 months of age!

Tanya wins back to back Best of Breeds breeder/owner/handledat the Carson City Nevada shows and qualifies for the Eukanuba Invitational!!  Rainey's hips xray normal!

July 2003

Rainey's on a roll!  Best of breed four shows in a row and Group 4 under Jon Cole at the Kenai Shows!

May 2003

Rainey wins Best of Winners and an Award of Merit for a five point major to finish her championship at the Kuvasz Club of America Specialty in St. Louis Missouri under Roger Hartinger.  Tanya made all the cuts on Thurs/Friday and won BOS on Saturday under Carmody. This was her first time back in the ring in 4 years! Rainey went on to win several group placements at the UCI-International shows, owner handled, and finished off the weekend with a Best in Show!  Matrix won the breed one day, placed in group and won the Working Bred-by Group!

March 2003

Rainey wins her first group placement at the Alaska Kennel Club shows, a Group 2, under Joe Tacker, handled by Tina Oswald.  She now ranks in the top 10 Breed and All Breed.

January 2003

Sonia starts 2003 with back to back Best of Breeds   (Forsyth and Gammill) and group cuts (Billings and Patti Long Smith) in St. Paul Minnesota, back to back Group 3's (Riggsbee and Fitzsimmons) in Hamburg NY and a Group 2 (Col. Pede) and 3 (Stebbins) in Novi Michigan.  She ended the weekend with a Group 1 (Polly Smith) and a BEST IN SHOW under Suzanne Dillon over 2000 dogs!   Year old Rainey and Tina Oswald start off the Alaskan show year with back to back Best of Breeds over two champions! Thank you Charles Trotter and Joyce Moulton for her wins.

December 2002

Sonia wins Best of Breed at the Eukanuba Invitational in Florida and makes the cut in the Working Group!   She also wins the Group in St. Cloud, Minnesota under first time working group judge Lesli Valunias and wins a Group 2 in Long Beach, California under Arlene Davis. Matrix finishes his Championship with a BOS over champions in Long Beach for his fourth major from the bred-by class AND wins the Puppy Working Group at the Breeder's Showcase Sweepstakes in Orlando, Florida.!

November 2002

Sonia wins the American Kuvasz Association Sponsored Entry in Columbus, Ohio under Donna Buxton!  She also wins the breed on Thursday under Keke Kahn and Sunday under Sheila Dinardo which gives her enough breed points to rank #1 Kuvasz Bitch, #2 Overall!!

October 2002

Sonia wins Best of Breed at the Kuvasz Club of America supported entry in Tulsa, Oklahoma under Polly Smith and Matrix wins BOS from the Bred-by class for another 4 point major! Also thank you to judge Charlotte McGowan for Sonia's BOB on Saturday and judge Carolyn Thomas for Matrix's BOW for a four point major on Friday!  13 points at 7 months of age!

Kiska gets Best Opposite Sex and her second major in Boise while her son Matrix wins Best of Winners over his mom to get his first major from the bred-by class and two more points the day before, his very first show weekend!  Thank you to Judge Christina Hubbell for the majors and breed consideration for Matrix and Judge H.M. Cresap for  Matrix's points on Friday!

August 2002

Fang wins one, Sonia wins two (and makes the cut in group!)!  Fang and Sonia both try out new juniors for breed wins at the Cook Inlet Shows!  Thank you to Judge Kenneth Buxton for Fang's BOB and Kiska's point, Judge Donna Buxton for Rainey's point and Sonia's Best of Breed and cut in group, and Judge Christina Hubbell for Sonia's Best of Breed and another point for Kiska.

July 2002

Fang tries out a new exercise and "qualifies" on his first try!  At the Kenai Kennel Club shows, Fang tried out the new Rally Obedience trial and passed his first time through!  He was also awarded a Working Group 4 by Dr. Sam Burke, all breeder-owner-handled. Judge Jane Kay awarded Kiska WB on Friday and our new puppy, Rainey, made a splash by going Winners Bitch both Saturday and Sunday under Dr. Sam Burke and Linton Moustakis.

June 2002

Fang is truly a multitasking dog!  He was awarded the first leg towards his Canadian C.D. and four Working Group placements in Whitehorse, Canada, all breeder-owner-handled.  Thank you judges Neil Graves (Group 2), Larry Kereluke (Group 3), Maurice Tougas (Group 3) and Robert Whitney (Group 4)!

March 2002

Congratulations to Nicole's sire, Ch. Rocky Mt. Whale of a Deal, "Jonah" on his Best in Specialty Show win in San Antonio Texas.  Kiska delivered seven sons by Jonah on March 10 in San Antonio!

December 2001

Fang becomes a new Companion Dog,  which qualified him for a KCA Versatility Certificate, and placed fourth in his Novice A Class in Waco, Texas.  He also made the cut in the Working Group under Dorothy Welsh!  He went on to achieve the Canine Good Citizen title, which qualified him for the KCA Versatility Outstanding Achievement Award, the only VOAA kuvasz with any breeder/owner/handled titles!

August 2001

Fang places first in his Novice A Obedience Class for second leg AND made the cut in the Working Group, Breeder/Owner/Handled!  Sonia becomes a mom to Nicole , Glacier Creek's Lone Star Spirit, by Ch. Rocky Mt. Whale of a Deal.

June 2001

Sonia takes Best of Breed at the Vancouver Kennel Club shows in Washington, again Breeder/Owner handled! Thank you Asa Mays!

May 2001

Sonia takes the specialty weekend by storm! Judges First Award of Merit at the specialty, then won Best of Breed AND the Working Group the next day! Thank you to judges John Connolly (Specialty), Mrs. Esporite (Breed) and Mr. Esporite (Group) for her amazing wins and to Vicki Havicon for showing Sonia to perfection. May ended on a fantastic note at the Tanana Valley Shows! Fang received his first Qualifying Score in obedience with a 184 1/2, 14 year old Juliann went first in her Juniors Class twice with Sonia and moved up to Open and 11 year old Jocelyn won her Juniors Class with Fang their first time out (and it was only her second time in the ring!) Sonia went on to win a Group 4 under Donna Buxton.

April 2001

Sonia celebrates her 20th group placement with a Group 3 under Lee Canalizo , handled by Nina Fetter, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, adding another state to her total.

March 2001

Sonia is on the scoreboard again for 2001! A broken ankle sidelined me since December, but Sonia continues her winning ways with other capable handlers. Thank you to Judith Brown for Sonia's Group 4 on March 18, handled by Jill Bell, at the Galveston Kennel Club, and thanks to Beverly Capstick for the cut on Saturday. Thanks also to Frank Grover for Sonia's BOB with Carl Sanders in San Antonio the week before.

December 2000

Sonia puts a freeze on Texas! Best of Breed all four days at the Amarillo shows and makes the cut three out of the four days (one of the only owner/handled working dogs to do so) Thanks to Dorothy Hutchinson, Dorothy Welsh, Houston Clark, Denny Kodner and Lynn Peterson for recognizing Sonia in such a tough group. She raises up to #6 All Breed and #7 in breed, with being shown once or twice a month only since May!

November 2000

Well, she's consistent! Sonia wins her 18th group placement, again breeder/owner/handled! Her feet never touched the floor! Thank you judge Stan Zielenski for Sonia's Group 3! Fang also had a great time, placing second in his Junior's class with Juliann, and very nearly qualifying in obedience the day before.

Neither wind nor rain can stop this girl! Thank you to Judge Ronald Krohne for Sonia's Group 3 and all your support at the Kennewick Washington shows! She's baaaaack! Thank you to Honey Glenndinning for Sonia's Group 3 at the Cook Inlet Kennel Club shows in Palmer, Alaska! Love those Canadian Judges!! The Fangman had a good time too, at his very first obedience trials. He nearly qualified two of the three days! (then totally had a great time the last day!) Shiner took advantage of the Health Clinic and came home with his eye and heart certificates! Not bad for for a boy who's over 10 1/2!

What a Memorable Memorial Day Weekend! Fang is now a Working Group Placer, Junior-Owner Handled! Congratulations to Juliann and Fang for their Group 4 (over BIS dogs!) under Judge James Frederickson on Saturday! This makes Fang the second Junior-Owner Handled dog to place in group in the history of the breed! (Michael and Lizzy were the first!) Also congratulations to Julie and Fang on placing in their Junior's class ever day, including winning it on Monday! Thanks also to Charles Trotter for including Sonia in the cut of six in the Working Group on Sunday.

Thanksgiving...what are we thankful for? Our family, good friends, INCREDIBLE crowd support and the fact that Sonia is now an AKC Group Winner at not even three years of age! Thank you to Judge James White for this momentous win on November 27 in Waco, Texas, her second group placement in the tough Texas Working Group this year from him! Thanks also to Judge Charles Trotter for making this a back-to-back win with a Group 3 on Sunday. We were especially thankful as we were the only owner/handlers to place in the Working Group all weekend, and over Top 10 Working Dogs!

 A new show for Alaska? Another Group Placement for Sonia! Thank you to Lowell K. Davis for Sonia's Group 2 at the new one day Cook Inlet Kennel Club show in Palmer, Alaska, November 14.

Sonia continues her Best of Breed winning streak in Boise, Idaho! Best of Breed all four days over the nation's best! Thank you judges Leslie Rogers, Janice Moulton, Madeline Fish and Mrs. Andre Schoen!

September 1999

Southern Oregon was hot, but Sonia was HOTTER! Thank you judges Dany Canino, James White and Irene Bivins for Sonia's Best of Breeds and Helen Lee James for giving Sonia group consideration over all the top West Coast working dogs!

Fang is now a triple champion! 12 year old Juliann Hanson, won this Group 2 (his fifth group placement in a row!) Sept. 11 under Maurice Tougas to finish his States and States-International championships. This was their first time together in the ring! He also won a group 3 under Jackie Braezele and a group 4 under Sheila Verhulst the day before, breeder/owner-handled.

August 1999

Sonia sees Double! Two Working Group 4's at the Cook Inlet Kennel Club shows in Palmer, Alaska on August 6 and 8! Thank you Judges Leslie Rogers and Donald Doltz . Thanks also to Judge Arley Hussin for the cut on Saturday!

July 1999

Alaska finishes her Championship on July 11, 1999 in Woodstock, Ontario Canada!
Way to go Kris, Kevin and Alaska! (Ch. Glacier Creek's Alaskan Icefog)

Sonia wins ANOTHER Best in Show at the States Kennel Club show on July 17, 1999. Then on Sunday, The Fangster (aka Ch. Glacier Creek's White Fang) tried out his paw at the States KC shows, and came home with TWO Working Group 2's!! The States KC shows are two shows each day and group placements count for points towards the Ch. so Fang is over halfway there! Thank you Judges Rebecca Brandon, Anella Cooper, Boots Rogers and David Hinton for a truly memorable weekend!

On July 24, Sonia is awarded another Best in Show Bred-by Exhibitor at the Alle Rasse UCI International Shows in Palmer, Alaska. Thank you Janet Wilcox and Donna Cole! She also won a Working Group 2 (Donna Cole and Dody Froelich) On July 25, she won another Group 2 (Janet Wilcox and David Linnehan) and her THIRD Best in Show Bred-by Exhibitor! (Honey Glenndinning and Janet Wilcox) , and added the National Championship (her sixth title) to her International Championship with all V-1 ratings! Puppy Kiska at 4 1/2 months attended her first show, and Honey Glenndinning awarded her an SG-1 from the Baby Klasse, the highest award a puppy can receive.

June 1999

Judge Lawrence Stanbridge awarded Sonia the first Best in Show of the Yukon Kennel Club Cluster on June 18, 1999 in Whitehorse, Canada! Thanks also to Charles Hunt, Morley Thornton, Larry Kereluke and Donna Cole for her four other group placements, making her the top winning dog of all breeds at the six show cluster!! She now adds a Canadian Championship to her long list of accomplishments.

May 1999

More Back to Backs for Sonia! Linton Moustakis awarded her a Group 4 on May 30 over several multiple BIS dogs (some nationally ranked up from the lower 48!) and Dorothy Hutchinson also awarded her a Group 4 on May 31 at the Tanana Valley Cluster of Dog Shows (Fairbanks, Alaska)

She was also awarded back-to-back group placements, a Group 2 by James Bennett and a Group 3 by Jane Roppolo , at the Kenai Kennel Club shows on May 21 and 22 to finish the qualifications for the Conformation Performance Award from the Kuvasz Club of America!!

March 1999

Breeder/Owner-Handled, Sonia was awarded Best of Breed by Houston Clark and Constance Barton at two of the four March San Antonio Cluster of shows over the nation's top competition and won a Group 3 under James White the first day! The next weekend in Houston she won Group 4 under Donald Gill with Karen Newman. The last weekend in March, R.D. Smith awarded her Best of Breed and breeder/owner/handled, she made the cut of six in the tough Texas/Oklahoma working group judged by Polly Smith. She now ranks #1 Breed, #4 All-Breed (April Canine Chronicle).

Littermate Tanya finished her championship (with all majors!) in San Antonio. Thank you Houston Clark!

January 1999

1999 started out with three Best of Breeds (Dr. Eric Liebes, Dr. Harry Smith and Virginia Lyne) at the Puyallup Washington shows, and BACK TO BACK GROUP PLACEMENTS at the Alaska Kennel Club shows! Thank you Judges Polly Smith and Beverly Capstick!

Congratulations to Tanya and her Junior Handler-owner, Juliann Hanson, on placing in their tough Juniors Class at the January Alaska Kennel Club Shows. Tanya also won a 4 pt major at the Puyallup, Washington shows under Judge Harry Smith!!

1998 Highlights

Sonia tried out another new venue, and won BEST IN SHOW!! She also won "Reserve Best in Show Bred-by-Exhibitor" honors at the July 31, 1998 International All Breed Canine Association of America's (IABCA) UCI International Show held in Palmer, Alaska. These shows use the Country of Origin's FCI standard, and a panel to choose the Group and Best In Show placements. All this in spite of being totally out of coat!

On both Sunday and Monday of the IABCA International shows, Sonia pulled off Working Group 3's and Best in Show Bred-by-Exhibitor (Monday), and another Reserve BIS Bred-by (Sunday)! She and her mom, Miss Kizzy, were awarded their three V-1's ("Very Excellent") ratings to finish their UCI-International Championships.

The very next weekend, she was awarded Working Group 4 at the AKC Cook Inlet Kennel Club shows under Judge Robert Ward. She has now placed in group over top 10 dogs  in every event she has tried, using three different Kuvasz Breed Standards (AKC/CKC/FCI): the States (SKC)/Canadian (CKC)/American (AKC) and International (UCI) Shows, and has won four championship titles.

 She went on to win on November 21, 1998 a Group 4 by Judge Polly Smith at the Whidbey Island Kennel Club show in Washington, which made her #8 in the nation (All Breed) for 1998. At the Kuvasz Club of Canada's Booster December weekend in Brantford, Ontario, she was awarded Best of Breed and made the cut in the impossible working group both Saturday and Sunday, from the BRED-BY CLASS!! She ended up the #2 Kuvasz in Canada for 1998 (#1 Breeder/Owner Handled). Sonia also appears in the July Hungarian All Breed Magazine, the Kutya !!!
